Mt. Wheeler Power Rate Adjustment Announcement

Effective January 2025

Mt. Wheeler Power will implement a rate adjustment starting January 2025 to ensure we continue providing reliable power to our members while addressing the rising costs of critical materials, infrastructure maintenance, and the growing demands on our system.

The new rates are as follows:

  • Residential Rate Class: The Energy Delivery Charge will increase from $21.50 to $32.00, with a reduction in the kilowatt-hour (kWh) rate to $0.065 per kWh.
  • Small Commercial (General Service) Rate: The Energy Delivery Charge will increase from $28.00 to $36.00.
  • Large General Service and Industrial Rates: The Energy Delivery Charge will increase from $105.00 to $125.00.
  • Irrigation Members: The Annual Energy Delivery Charge multiplier will adjust from $8.00 to $10.00 per horsepower.

These changes are essential to maintaining the reliable service our members depend on while addressing inflationary pressures and rising fixed costs. Despite these adjustments, Mt. Wheeler Power remains committed to providing affordable energy, which is why we continue to work diligently to keep our rates among the lowest in Nevada and Utah.

We understand that rate changes can be concerning. The impact of this adjustment will vary based on factors such as individual usage and rate classification. Conservation efforts will play a significant role in keeping bills low. We encourage members to contact us for guidance on managing energy use.

If you have any questions or would like more information on how these changes will affect your bill, please reach out to our Member Services team at 775-289-8981 or 800-977-6937.

We are committed to providing clear, transparent information and supporting you every step of the way.
